Rick Storm. He came, He saw , He conquered. At Exe Ranch we regularly have great artists but, never and I mean never have I at the end of the night been drowned out by the applause and encore requested. It speaks oceans about the young man that performed last night at Exe Ranch.
For 2.5 years we have chased Rick to come to the West Country and we really do hope that it's not 2.5 yrs before we see him again. 3 songs in and he had us all in the palm of his hand....what professionalism. He spent time in every interval walking the room and talking to all our guests....What more could a club ask for?
Rick asked us what we would like him to play ???? Our response was ''Play what you enjoy playing'' we will never dictate to an artist what they should play....if you perform at Exe Ranch play what you enjoy playing....Full Stop....
What a variety of music Rick played....The floor was packed all night....both Line dancers and partner dancers along with the Weston fraternity were over the moon. We were all treated to a great variety of music whether a listener or a dancer. Partners were treated to lots of dances for partners all in all a really special night that sent Helen, 'B' and myself home with the broadest smiles on our faces knowing you all went home happy....Quality is quality and we had it last night in abundance...…Please come back Rick Storm....??
FRIDAY 13 JULY - RICK STORM
FRIDAY 10 AUGUST - THE WESTONS
The Westons were our entertainments this evening. Cliff Weston and his brother Paul and Paul's wife Debbie make up this fantastic trio. They all sing, play the guitar and Cliff plays the steel guitar all to a high level. They sang a wide variety of songs and harmonised wonderfully.
Our dancers and listeners had a great evening and the dance floor was full all night, helped in the interval by Pauline from Blue Roses.
It was a particularly busy night which was surprising considering it is the peak holiday seaon but it made for a great atmosphere.
Thank you to Becky & Sue who kept us all fed and watered.
FRIDAY 12 OCTOBER - BOB KEELEY
What a fantastic night we had this month. We had Bob Keeley to entertain us and he was definitely worth waiting for! We have been trying to persuade Bob to come down to Exe Ranch for years and what a performance he gave. He kept the dance floor busy all night and the listeners entertained with his great singing voice and bubbly personality.
We had quite a few first time visitors to the club who were holidaying in the area and hopefully we may see them again at some time in the future.
Pauline very ably kept the floor busy in the interval and a good night was had by all. We received many thanks and compliments which makes it all worthwhile.
Bill helped us with the Lucky Horseshoe this evening and April once again helped us with the raffle as unfortunately Bea was still not well enough to spend the whole evening with us. We all hope she will be back in the clubs in the coming weeks as we all miss her.
What a "thrilling" night we had tonight with the Thrillbillies who travelled some distance in awful weather to play for us. Dave and Ed certainly know how to entertain, with Dave's guitar skills and Ed's vocals they are truly a winning combination. They played a variety of country music including some unusual ones to which we could dance are regular dances making it more interesting and made us think a bit more! Pauline from Blue Roses kept us dancing in the interval.
It was good to have Bea back on the door selling the raffle tickets and Mike & Sue kept us fed and watered.
FRIDAY 9 NOVEMBER - THRILLBILLIES
Well, we had Texas Tornados as our entertainment tonight. This was their first visit to the club (don't know why!!) and what an evening of entertainment we had. With Stu's expert ability with the variety of musical instruments and Pete's cheeky sense of humour and fun, you can't help but have a great evening. Not to mention Pete's line dancing of 7 nights to Rock, Lamtarra Rumba and Pot of Gold and singing at the same time! (I thought only women could multitask ;-))
We had a good number in tonight and a bumper raffle table for Christmas which helped make the night a great one. We thanked all our helpers during the year and hope they will continue to do so through the coming year.
Thanks to everyone for your support and help and hope 2019 will bring many more nights as entertaining as this one.
FRIDAY 14 DECEMBER - TEXAS TORNADOS
FRIDAY 14 SEPTEMBER - KICKIN' COUNTRY
Kickin' Country are a fabulous duo of Chris James and Brian Cox. They have been to our club before and we were pleased to welcome them yet again. They didn't disappoint and gave us a great night of good country music from the older to the newer.
Pauline from Blue Roses kept the floor busy in the interval and the bar staff very ably kept everyone hydrated throughout the night.
Thank you April for helping us with the raffle as unfortunately Bea was unavoidably detained in hospital. We all hope she has a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back in the clubs as soon as possible. - We miss you Bea xx
